Non-Discrimination Policy

Purpose

Inner Voice Counseling Center (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to providing a safe, affirming, and inclusive space for all clients. We believe that every person deserves equitable access to mental health and therapy services, free from discrimination, bias, or prejudice. This policy reflects our core values as a bilingual, culturally responsive, and sex-positive practice serving individuals and couples across Florida & Canada.

 

Policy Statement

We do not discriminate in the provision of mental health or therapy services on the basis of any protected or marginalized identity, including but not limited to:

  • Race, ethnicity, or cultural background

  • National origin or immigration status

  • Preferred language (English or Spanish)

  • Religion or spiritual beliefs

  • Gender identity or expression

  • Sexual orientation

  • Age

  • Disability (physical, mental, or developmental)

  • Socioeconomic status

  • Marital, relationship, or family structure

  • Military or veteran status

  • Body size or physical appearance

  • HIV status or health condition

  • Kink, BDSM, or non-traditional relationship practices

We are especially committed to affirming and supporting individuals from LGBTQIA+ communities, including transgender, nonbinary, gender-diverse, and queer-identified clients, as well as those navigating questions of sexuality, identity, intimacy, and relationships.

 

Affirming Care Commitment

Our practice is dedicated to providing care that honors the full humanity of every client. We strive to:

  • Use clients’ chosen names and pronouns at all times

  • Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and sex-positive care

  • Offer services in both English and Spanish to serve our bilingual and bicultural community

  • Maintain ongoing self-reflection and awareness of personal and systemic biases

  • Pursue continuing education on diversity, equity, inclusion, and sexuality

  • Create a welcoming and accessible therapeutic environment, in person and virtually

 

Inner Voice Counseling Center operates in accordance with applicable professional ethical standards and the laws governing mental health services in Florida and Canada.

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure alignment with current laws, ethical standards, and evolving best practices in inclusive, affirming mental health care. Any updates will be reflected in the version date above.
